Our 7 Step Installation Process

Schedule Your Project

The first step is mapping out a plan that suits you. Our plan will consider all the unique factors in your building such as parking, hours of operation, access limitations, your required safety standards etc.

Safety is Number One

None of our teams go on a roof without full safety knowledge and certification. Before we begin there is also a large team brief to highlight any specific safety issues on this project. Safety flags and yellow tape are placed on the edges and areas that may have falling debris are cordoned off.

Arrange for Material Delivery

Once we order the materials and they arrive on-site, they are organised to keep disruption to a minimum. Usually that means moving all tools and materials to the rooftop.

Finalise Scheduling

The appointed project manager will liaise with you to sign off on the final schedule. We want to make everything run as smoothly as possible so this part is very important to get right.

Install Your Roof

Your roof is laid down in sections so that we can guarantee it is 100% waterproof. The latest techniques and materials are used to ensure that the seams are attached mechanically and fully stuck together. This ensures your building stays waterproof at every point during construction. We do daily rubbish removal runs so debris never gets a chance to build up.

Final Inspections

The site foreman will be responsible for signing off on the work. He will be ensuring that the finished project is of a high quality that the site has been cleaned thoroughly and is now safe and secure.

Written Warranty

After you are happy with everything we issue our final written warranty for you to keep along with any other necessary documents. These need to be kept very safe in case they are ever needed.

We Follow Building Regulations

All of our staff members are thoroughly vetted and background tested for an added layer of security. This is important when working on sensitive or secure buildings.

We conduct strong on-boarding processes and testing to ensure that our employees are all aware of the extensive building rules and regulations and that are followed at all times.

Your Health and Safety are Guaranteed

Health and safety of both our employees and the public is our top priority above everything else. No deadline or roof is worth anyone getting hurt over. Our H&S procedures are very robust and we have a specific team whose duty is to make sure everyone is up to date on current regs and is following them accordingly. Spot checks are carried out routinely alongside safety audits.

What Does a Commercial Roofer Do?

A commercial Dublin roofer takes care of all types of roof installation, repairs, replacement, maintenance and waterproofing of commercial and industrial buildings.

These jobs are usually very demanding as these roofs can have a very large surface area. They can also be many stories high, which can require special equipment and extra safety training.

The Dublin Roofers offers a full range of commercial roofing services across Dublin to suit every need. We also can perform regular preventative maintenance for you to keep your roof healthy and leak-free.

What are Commercial Flat Roofs Made Of?

The most common roofing material for commercial flat roofs is single ply membrane. This is actually more a family of materials than just one. Technically a single ply membrane is any material that only requires one layer to make a flat roof waterproof.

The most common types are PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), PIB (PolyIsoButylene), TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) and TPE (Thermoplastic Polyolefin Elastomer).

The other common material for roofs are metals such as steel, aluminium or zinc.

What is the Best Commercial Roofing Material?

This really depends on what your specific requirements and budget are. Metals can last for an extremely long time but may not insulate well. Other common flat roof materials such as torch-on felt, fibreglass or EPDM may not have the necessary traits or be suitable for commercial roofing.

Single ply membranes are the most popular because they are all light, very flexible, very resistant to all weather. They can handle UV light and are resistant to mold and mildew growth. They are also usually chemical and solvent resistant. Finally, they are fire resistant and even self-extinguishing.

What is the Best Way to Waterproof a Commercial Flat Roof?

If you have a roof that is a little worse for wear, a great alternative to installing a brand new one is using a liquid-applied membrane.

This involves adding an elastomeric liquid coating to the current roof. It can be directly applied over most roof materials such as felt, concrete, asphalt etc.

Once the liquid cools it forms a waterproof, seamless rubber membrane. Optionally, for additional strength and durability, layers of glass-reinforced plastic can be added in-between coats of the liquid.

This is cold applied so it’s safe and it’s also a very quick process resulting in minimal disruption. It’s also very cost effective, often coming in at 70% cheaper than a traditional re-roofing.
